Evaluating the new tech trends on National Technology Day

Modern India backed by advanced Technology is what we as Indian are looking ahead to. The country is growing at a fast pace, and there is no stopping. Modern India is driven by Technology and science. After all, it is the key element in driving economic growth.

“India is projected to be the 3rd largest economy in the coming three years,” said the Finance Ministry of India. He added India’s GDP is predicted to reach $7 trillion by 2030. Presently, we rank 5th in the most extensive economy list with a GDP of $3.7 trillion.” India is developing at a faster pace.

Few steps to cover the difference from Developing to Developed economy!

In this roller coaster ride, Technology has played an impressive role. On that note, as an Indian celebrating a day of national importance and pride is mandatory. Every year on 11th May, India celebrates ‘National Technology Day’ – when India successfully completed the nuclear test at Pokhran in 1998. It is a day to honor the amazing discoveries and breakthroughs our techies have developed to mold how the world works, communicates, and lives. We have grown from the internet to space travel, from telephones to augmented reality, and from cybersecurity to AIML; India has leveraged all the latest technologies for the development of both its populace and economy at large.

“India is positioned to make use of the revolutionary power of 5G and, in the future, 6G, to propel itself to the forefront of digital innovation because of its large population, booming digital economy, and widespread use of technology” – Eric Garcetti, the US ambassador to India.

India, the leading exporter of IT goods, is a center for startup enterprises. In the nine months from April to December 2023, India saw investments in space startups totaling more than Rs.1,000 crore (US$120.21 million). An impressive growth in the IT Startup industry.

“Technology is a powerful tool that helps in shaping a country’s brighter future. It is a bridge connecting people and possibilities. And our innovative spirit, combined with the power of technology, will enable us to leapfrog traditional boundaries and become a global leader. Let’s keep pushing our boundaries towards an unstoppable India” – From Sujoy Brahmachari, CIO and CISO of Rosmerta Technologies, Ltd.

Let’s check out the buzzing developments that is helping India emerge as a world leader in the coming years:

1. Gen-AI

Modern Technology, called “generative AI,” has completely changed several sectors by allowing robots to produce content that seems to be created by humans. This Technology may be used for many things, such as creating text, images, and even music. Popular example like- ChatGPT.

“We have come a long way because of the ongoing advancement of technology. There are still a lot of scopes where the utilization of Technology can make a difference. Let’s engage in research and innovation. Identify problems or challenges and work on solutions. Together, we can make our country a “Viswa Guru” Prakash Sharma Group CIO, Kredent Group.

2. Datafication

The process of converting everything in our life into data-driven software or devices is known as “datafication.” In a nutshell, datafication is the process of turning labor-intensive manual tasks into data-driven technology solutions. Unbelievably, data will be there for a lot longer in everything from industrial gear to AI-powered products to smartphones and office software!

3. AIML

Artificial intelligence, or AI, has generated a lot of noise in the last ten years. Since it still has a big influence on our everyday lives and is still in its infancy, it’s still one of the newest technical developments. Artificial intelligence (AI) is already widely recognised for its superior performance in a number of applications, such as ride-sharing, smartphone personal assistants, voice and image recognition, and navigation apps.

The AI subset — Machine Learning (ML) is used in many businesses, driving up demand for qualified workers. Another emerging technological trend you should be aware of is Forrester’s prediction that by 2025, AI, machine learning, and automation will generate 9% of new employment in the United States. These occupations include robot monitoring specialists, data scientists, automation specialists, and content curators.

“Technology is nothing. What’s important is that you have faith in people, that they’re basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they’ll do wonderful things with them”– Sandeep Pandita, CIO/Head of IT at Hero Steels Ltd.

4. The 3D Printing Process

Prototyping with 3D printing is a cutting-edge and popular technology. This method has affected the biological and industrial domains. Even though it is now possible to print a genuine product from a printer, none of us have ever given it any thought. 3D printing is, therefore, another innovation that is here to stay.

5. Genomics

Imagine a technological advancement that allows you to better fight illnesses and other ailments by studying and using your DNA! The Technology known as Genomics examines the composition of genes and DNAs and their structure and mapping. Furthermore, quantifying your DNA might assist in identifying illnesses or other potential issues that may develop into health concerns in the future.

6. Augmented and Virtual Reality

Virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), are the next great technological developments. VR fully immerses the user in their surroundings, whilst AR enhances them. This technological trend has been employed for training, even though it has so far mostly been used for gaming.

7. Blockchain

While most people associate blockchain technology with cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, blockchain actually provides security benefits in several other domains. In short, blockchain is just data that you may add to, not subtract from or change. It makes reasonable to call it a “chain” since you are establishing a data chain. The fact that the previous blocks are immutable is what makes it so secure. Furthermore, no entity may claim ownership of the data because blockchains are consensus-driven. Blockchain removes the need for a trustworthy third party to oversee and validate transactions.

8. Metaverse

Another impeccable technology that is taking shape is Metaverse. The Metaverse is a virtual, networked digital universe where users may communicate with one other and digital environments in real time. It combines augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and other technologies to create immersive, shared experiences. Businesses are considering using the Metaverse in various fields, including social networking, education, gaming, and healthcare. This trend, which unites the digital and real worlds, is anticipated to influence corporate cooperation, communication, and entertainment significantly.

9. Digital Twins

Digital twins are virtual representations of actual systems, objects, or processes created by computers. These digital representations are created using data from several sources, including sensors and Internet of Things devices. Organizations can use digital twins to monitor, replicate, and analyze real-world activities and assets in a virtual setting. They are used in various fields, including industry, healthcare, and urban planning. By streamlining procedures and creating digital twins, businesses may improve decision-making, efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

2024 and beyond is the year of change. The world is changing, and so is India.

India is ranked among the top five countries in the world for space exploration, making it one of the top nations for scientific research. The nation has routinely flown spacecraft, including the renowned Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), and trips to the moon. India is expected to lead in the SAARC countries’ satellite launches, earning money by renting out its space facilities to other nations.

In an effort to position India as a leader in science and Technology and to encourage participation in R&D from the public and private sectors, the government has implemented a number of programs. Consequently, India’s gross expenditure on Research and Development (GERD) has been rising steadily over time. The government has also put in place a number of fellowship programs to support the nation’s human potential for cutting-edge research.

“National Technology Day commemorates the power of innovation to drive progress and shape a better tomorrow for all while celebrating the indomitable spirit of innovation that propels nations forward. Let’s embrace Technology’s transformative potential and strive towards a brighter, more connected future filled with endless possibilities”– Subhakar Rudra, CIO, WPIL.

India, let’s celebrate the ‘National Technology Day’ and the power of invention and its potential to improve the world, regardless of your level of interest in Technology or your enjoyment of its conveniences!
